Pediatrics

Pediatrics

We provide general pediatric care for children from newborns through junior high school age (and in some cases, high school students as well). If your child has a particularly complex or serious condition, we may refer him/her to a pediatric department at a tertiary hospital such as a university hospital. However, most pediatric patients can be diagnosed and treated within our department.
We prioritize patients referred by other medical institutions, but we also accept walk-in patients without a referral during regular hours. We are committed to collaborating closely with community clinics and hospitals to ensure seamless continuity of care.
Our general outpatient clinic is open Monday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., and patients may be seen without a referral* during these hours.
In the afternoons, we offer specialized outpatient services, including pediatric cardiology, neurology, infant and toddler care, allergy care, and vaccinations. If you or your family believe the condition requires urgent attention, we will also see patients without a referral* during these afternoon hours.
On Sundays and national holidays, an on-call pediatrician is available from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. for acute care.
For pediatric emergencies during nighttime hours, our internal medicine physician will first assess the patient. If necessary, the on-call pediatrician will be consulted to arrange for admission or follow-up at the pediatric department the following morning.
* Please note that, in accordance with the revision of revised Japanese health insurance act, patients without a referral may be charged an additional fee, known as “Sentei Ryoyohi” (selected medical services fee), in addition to regular medical costs.
